When your pet needs a holiday from you, one California hotel has the answer. The Animal Den Pet Resort in the state capital, Sacramento, has just spent a million dollars on an extensive refurbishment of its facilities.

Now pampered pooches and cosseted cats can enjoy private swim session and grooming. And for the nervous, shy or perhaps even celebrity pets, there is private ‘tranquility suite’ accomodation on offer at the resort.
