CANstruction, an art contest held at the National Building Museum in Washington, DC brings art and altruism together in a wonderful way.
Some magnificent transportation-themed structures were built by 24 teams, using only canned food, ranging from an almost life-size car to the Tardis from Doctor Who. Visitors can vote for their favorite sculpture by bringing a canned food item to donate. The event runs until 30 November, after which the sculptures will be dismantled and the food will be donated to local food banks. The museum is encouraging people to visit and donate on Black Friday instead of shopping. Read more at: dcist.com
