Virginia is touting its status as the largest producer of farm-raised oysters in the nation by launching the new Virginia Oyster Trail, a curated culinary journey through the region’s oyster producers and purveyors, as well as wineries and breweries.

Highlights of the oyster trail include tastings, boat tours, a church made from oyster shells, oyster roasts and oyster bed tours where visitors get some hands-on experience of harvesting oysters themselves.
