Some 100 mime artists in Peru ran the first slow-motion marathon in Lima last weekend.

But the race wasn’t the usual 26-mile stretch of traditional marathons – it covered only six blocks in the capital’s historic district. Setting off from Plaza San Martin, the mimes proceeded down busy Union Street to Cuzco Street, then crossed the finish line in front of the Peruvian-North American Cultural Institute (ICPNA). 9-year-old Sheyla Sanchez won the race, completing the course in half an hour.
