The cultural ministry of Peru announced plans to create a new exit portal from the Inca citadel of Machu Picchu.
Following the recommendation of Unesco, the new exit will decongest the flow of visitors to the archaeological site, as visitors currently enter and exit the the site from the same point. The exit, which will have a width of 85 feet, will be created using contemporary materials and will mimic the natural environment’s vegetation with a clay floor.
