A young British man has won a top prize that’s out of this world.
Hussain Manawer, 24, will be heading into space after winning a world-wide competition in Bangkok, where the top prize was a return ticket to space. He was selected as the winner at the One Young World summit, beating out people from 90 other countries.
One Young World is a UK-based non-profit that gathers young people from around the world at an annual summit.
Manawer, who won the competition with a spoken word poem on mental health, said he is dedicating his trip to everyone who has suffered from a mental health issue, reports the Huffington Post.
The prize is sponsored by the talent agency Kruger Crowe and was presented by Ron Garan, a NASA astronaut. The trip is scheduled for 2018 and he must undergo training to head 62 miles into space, where there will be no gravity, reports ITV.
