Love luxury but can’t afford it? Now you can see what you’re missing with a virtual tour of the Burj Al Arab Jumeirah hotel in Dubai.
The Burj Al Arab building is known for its sail-shaped silhouette, is located on a man-made island, and according to the hotel website, has been repeatedly voted as the world’s most luxurious hotel.
Now, the hotel, in partnership with Google, has provided a virtual tour of the interior using Google Street View technology. Without moving from your computer, you can see 360-degree views of the hotel’s bar, restaurants, spa, rooms, helipad and more. The Royal Suite is also on display, which, in a hotel where even the smallest suites measure 170-square metres and spread over two floors, makes for a pretty luxurious view.
According to the hotel’s website, the Royal Suite comes with 24-carat gold iPads that guests can use during their stay. There is a selection of 17 different pillows to sleep with, access to a private beach, a brigade of butlers 24 hours-a-day, and two master bathrooms, which each have full-size Jacuzzis. The room costs more than $20,000 USD a night.
If that is not enough, you can take a stroll through the rest of the building, checking out the restaurant that wraps around a giant fish tank, or even take a virtual dip in the pool at the spa. You can wander up to the top of the hotel and see the helipad and view of the city.
The views are interspersed with videos from a guest’s point-of-view, showing a bit more about the workings of the hotel and giving the viewer the impression of how it would feel to be a guest. Unfortunately, that’s about as close to visiting as most people will ever get.
Try it out here.
