A new statue of The Beatles has been revealed in Liverpool to mark the 50th anniversary of the band’s final show in their hometown.

The final Beatles show in Liverpool was held at the Empire Theatre on 5 December 1965. The sculpture, created by artist Andy Edwards, is of the Fab Four walking down the street and is located at Liverpool’s Pier Head.

Statues of The Beatles can be found in Houston, Texas; Altamy, Kazahstan; Penang, Malaysia and many more cities around the world.

Liverpool is packed with Beatles-related sites, including Paul McCartney and John Lennon’s childhood homes, the Cavern Club where the Beatles played more than 300 times, and the real Penny Lane.
