The Port Authority, which runs the airport, said the animal was sighted in a marsh near 82nd Street and Ditmars Boulevard in Queens. The animal then darted into Elmjack Field where authorities lost track of it.

It was the latest in a string of sightings around the city. In late April, another coyote was seen in Queens. It was tranquillised and captured by police. The same month, another coyote was captured near a pavement in downtown Manhattan. At least four other coyotes have been spotted in the city this year.
