Italy’s Culture Minister Dario Franceschini has announced that the country will spend an additional €300 million over the next three years on restoring 241 heritage sites.

Around €13 million will be spent on restoring the Domus Aurea, Emperor Nero’s huge 300-room party villa which overlooks the Colosseum in Rome. Other major projects include restoring Rome’s Palazzo Venezia and Siena’s medieval city walls. Read more: thelocal.it
