Historic Grand Canyon photo studio reopens

This week the Kolb Studio, an early 20th-century photography studio that captured images of tourists at the Grand Canyon, will reopen on the Grand Canyon’s South Rim. The studio was operated by the Kolb brothers, who helped popularize the area by filming themselves taking a trip down the Colorado River. Over the decades since the brothers stopped operating the studio, the building had become a victim of the elements. About $400,000 was needed to renovate the building. The reopening will include an exhibit of the brothers’ photographs and history. Read more: nytimes.com
