Scientists in Norway have been left baffled by the discovery of a succession of hairless elk. The elk have large patches of hair missing but, according to one researcher, they are “in good nick” considering temperatures can reach -40C in the region close to the border with Russia. The ungulates have been collared and will be studied over the next few years to establish the cause of their hair loss. Read more: thelocal.no
