A giant sculpture next to London’s Olympic Stadium could be turned into an enormous slide. The ArcelorMittal Orbit, a £23 million, 114m-high sculpture in East London, has proved a controversial structure, with many praising its viewing tower but criticising Anish Kapoor’s design. The plans, which were submitted last April and are being considered by the London Legacy Development Corporation, show the slide circling the Orbit five times before a final 50m ride to the ground.
