It’s easy enough to catch a plane to fly across the Pacific from Japan to California, but Sonya Baumstein doesn’t like taking the easy route. Instead, the 30 year old from Florida is rowing from Choshi to San Francisco, hoping to complete the 6000-mile journey in 4-6 months. She has previous experience in unusual ways of getting from A to B, having paddleboarded across the Bering Strait and rowed across the Atlantic. Read more: cnn.com
