Florida prepares for wet winter thanks to El Nino

The weather pattern known as El Nino is likely to cause a wet and stormy winter for Florida.

An increase in storm activity is likely to be seen from December until the end of March. Authorities are urging residents and travellers to be prepared for inclement weather, stocking their homes with emergency supplies and making sure smartphones are equipped with weather alerts, or keeping a weather radio nearby.
