For the first time in 50 years a sanctioned sailing race will be take place between Key West and Cuba. On 16 May 2015, a group of Hobie Cat sailboats will set off from Key West to make the 90-mile race across the Florida Straits to Havana, Cuba. The Havana Challenge event will also include a regatta between Cuban and US sailors on 19th May, when the two nations will compete in the waters off Cuba’s famous Malecon boardwalk.
