While this year brought many new flight routes and airline advancements, it also brought a number of crazy stories of passenger failures, airline mix-ups and more. This year, a boyband member passed out trying to beat the baggage fees, a Chinese airline was under fire for putting flight attendants in the overhead bins, and a corgi took an unexpected trip to Hawaii.

Everyone wants to avoid baggage fees, but in July, a boyband singer collapsed during a flight after putting on all his clothes in order to avoid extra charges. James McElvar, of Rewind, was flying with EasyJet from London to Glasgow, when he was told he could only take on one carry-on bag. The singer donned all of his clothing in order to skirt the fee, but the heat of all the layers caused him to vomit and pass out.

An airline in China came under fire in October after a video clip of an initiation ritual showed female flight attendants climbing into the overhead bins. The video went viral and drew angry criticism on Facebook and Twitter.

Two men got an interesting surprise on a Ryanair flight between London and Galway when they boarded and realized they were seated next to their doppelganger. The men took a selfie that went viral online. But that wasn’t the end of their weird twin experience. When the men went out for a pint in Galway, they ran into one another again and snapped another photo to commemorate the experience.

A co-pilot of a Lion Air flight reportedly offered a flight attendant as 'compensation' for a delayed flight.

A man’s bad attempt at flirting with a flight attendant in Thailand led to a cancelled Lion Air flight and potential jail time. Apparently, the man made a joke to a flight attendant as she put bags in the overhead bin in an attempt to flirt with her. He told her to be careful as the bags could have bombs in them. The attendant told the captain, which lead to the plane being evacuated and the man being arrested.

A Corgi bound on an American Airlines flight for Mississippi ended up 3,000 miles away in Hawaii

A corgi got the accidental trip of a lifetime in December, after it was put on the wrong flight and sent to Hawaii and not to Mississippi. The dog, named Bethany, was put on the wrong American Airlines plane, which left its owner desperately looking for the pup and fearing she was stolen.
