Joel and Kristine Kratochvil and their three daughters arrived at Costa Rica’s Juan Santamaria International Airport on Friday to special fanfare, as one of the members of the family is the one millionth tourist to arrive in Costa Rica from the United States in 2015.

This is the first time that more than one million US tourists have arrived in the Central American country in a single year. Upon their arrival, the family received Costa Rican souvenirs from the Costa Rican Tourism Board and were treated to performances by traditional musicians and folk dancers as they made their way through the airport.
