The elephants at Berlin’s Tierpark zoo have been given a seasonal snacking treat in the form of Christmas trees.
The mammoth mammals have been snapped munching the fir trees in their snowy enclosures as temperatures in Berlin linger around -7ºC. While the trees – which were gifted by local suppliers – don’t offer much in the way of nutritional value, the elephants enjoy chewing them and they add a bit of variety to their diet, which mostly consists of hay, grass and fruit.
