The cherry blossom trees in Toronto’s High Park are reaching ‘peak bloom’ for spring, according to the park’s nature centre. Observing the flowers has become a Toronto tradition to mark the winter finally thawing into spring. The nature centre makes annual announcements to signal the beginning of cherry blossom season, which occurs when 20% of blossoms have opened. ‘Peak bloom’ begins when at least 70% have opened.
