About 110 people were forced to stay overnight on a bullet train in Okayama, western Japan, after snowfall apparently caused delays to the train’s journey en route to Osaka.

Other bullet train routes have been operating at reduced speed or have been delayed. Elsewhere in western Japan, unusually heavy snow has led to landslides, traffic disruptions, and suspended public transport services.
