Bangkok-Chiang Mai bullet train deal signed

Thailand and Japan have signed a memorandum of understanding to cooperate on the possible introduction of Japan’s shinkansen bullet-train technology into the Thai kingdom. The agreement enables the two countries to begin a feasibility study of a 660-kilometre high-speed railway project linking Bangkok and Chiang Mai. Existing train services take between 12hrs and 15hrs to connect the two Thai cities. Read more: bangkokpost.com
