Once known as the behemoth that destroyed bookstores, Amazon is now getting into the brick-and-mortar bookstore game.
On Tuesday the online retailer opened its first bookstore in Seattle’s University Village. Amazon Books will stock 5000 to 6000 titles in its physical location, and the company hopes that its troves of data from 20 years of online shopping will help it select the right books for Seattle readers. The store will stock both best-sellers as well as little-known titles that rate high with Amazon’s online shoppers. Read more: seattletimes.com
