A plane coming into land hit and killed a deer last week in California. None of the passengers on board were hurt, or even aware of the incident, as the plane arrived at Sonoma County Airport, in the famous wine-making area north of San Francisco, but the deer died instantly.

The Alaska Airlines plane was checked for damage and returned to service the next day.
