Starting on the 16th of March, Zion National Park  in Southern Utah will periodically close its Zion-Mount Carmel Highway Tunnel to map the historic 1.1-mile passage. Park administrators hope to map the tunnel’s dimensions, check its condition and learn about and the materials used in its construction. Built in the late 1920s, the tunnel was constructed to ease navigation between the region’s national parks, which include the Bryce and Grand Canyons. Read more: reviewjournal.com
