You can live like royalty in this Swiss hotel’s sophisticated Grace Kelly suite

She was a famous actress who became Princess of Monaco after marrying Prince Rainier III, and in the 1960s, the late Grace Kelly often stayed at the Ritz Carlton Hotel de la Paix in Geneva. The newly-refurbished Swiss hotel has decided to dedicate a suite in her name, so if you stay there now, you can live like a royal in the Grace Kelly suite.

The new presidential suite at the 152-year-old hotel consists of a master bedroom, a living room and a separate dining room for six people with a kitchenette, fireplace and walk-in closet. You can take in the views as the suite’s balconies overlook Lake Geneva, the Brunswick Garden and the Alps. The 1131-square-foot suite is bathed in light thanks to its high ceilings and large bay windows, and it has sophisticated art deco details and gold leaf gilding.

As part of its multi-million-dollar refurbishment, the hallways of the hotel’s atrium contain an exhibition of tapestries of historical figures who played a role in attaining peace, from Giuseppe Garibaldi to Victor Hugo. Originally built in 1865, the hotel has also welcomed guests like actor Orson Welles. All of the its 74 guestrooms have been renovated in a sleek and modern style, including its 14 suites.

If you get peckish while staying there, the hotel has introduced two new culinary experiences. The first is the Nordic-fusion concept restaurant, Fiskebar, and the second is the all-day Living Room Bar & Kitchen, which has a lounge-style setting. The Philippe Pascoët chocolate shop is also housed there, and it offers sweet confections that are handmade by the Swiss master chocolatier.
