Vlogging about food and travel is a dream job for many, but it can be tough to get started. Luckily, a competition for a ‘vlogger bursary’ will set one lucky person up with everything they need to launch their career.
The City Kitchen – a ready-meal brand sold at Tesco shops – is going to give a UK traveller an opportunity to explore the world, and hopefully sample some nice meals along the way. The company is giving away a £8000 travel fund, a vlogging kit and mentorship from a YouTube travel vlogger, Jason Billam. The winner’s package also includes a DSLR camera, laptop and video editing software so they have the tools they need to create their own content.
Once the winner has the money and equipment, Jason, who runs the YouTube channel Jason Billam Travel, will help them learn how to be successful in the world of vlogging. In just over a year, Jason has gotten 1 million views and 30,000 subscribers to his channel. He has been to 27 countries as has made travel vlogging his full-time job.
Jason, said in a statement: “This is a unique opportunity to ignite your career as the next travel vlogger. The gear list and prize money are a massive head start in what is now a highly competitive industry. I can’t wait to work with the winner and offer all the advice I have, from travelling solo in some of the world’s least visited countries to editing your shots with a cinematic edge.”
If this sounds like the job for you, to enter you must produce a short vlog with a food and travel theme. The competition runs from 13 March to 1 May 2018. Head to www.ilovecitykitchen.co.uk to find out more.
