Where has the world’s sexiest bedroom? Winners of the Mr & Mrs Smith Hotel Awards 2018 revealed

Looking for inspiration for where to stay this year? Well Mr & Mrs Smith, the company that describes itself as, “the travel club for hotel lovers” is here to help, having just announced the winners of its hotel awards 2018, with selections made in categories such as World’s Sexiest Bedroom, Best Pool With a View, Most Spoiling Spa and Best Gourmet Getaway.

Chosen by a panel of judges that included fashion designers Jenny Packham and Olivia von Halle, as well as broadcaster Lauren Lavern and chef Tom Aikens, a total of 12 hotels were chosen in different categories, with the winners being dotted around the world in countries such as Chile, Japan, Iceland, France and the United States of America. Taking the top spot for Best Smith Hotel 2018, the only category that saw a public vote taking place, was Villa La Coste in Provence, France, which impressed the judges with its cutting-edge design and eye-catching architecture.

“As a travel club, we like to do things a little differently – our awards are a chance to champion those one-of-a-kind places that have made a real impact on us. If you’ve ever asked us for travel tips, consider this our ultimate must-visit list for 2018,” said James Lohan, Co-Founder of Mr & Mrs Smith. The title of Best-Dressed Hotel went to Le Roch Hotel & Spa in Paris, a popular choice for travellers during Fashion Week, while World’s Sexiest Bedroom was given to Soneva Jani in Maldives, which features a room in the middle of the ocean and a retractable roof that rolls back at the touch of a button for stargazing.

Other winners in the hotel awards included Roxy Hotel in New York City, which claimed the title for Best Date-Night Bar for their extensive cocktail list and jazz offerings, Zaborin Niseko in Japan which was crowned the Best Gourmet Getaway for its kaiseki cooking and Tierra Atacama Hotel and Spa in Chile, which won Best Pool with a View, for its stunning mountainous surroundings.
