Ricky Gervais’ version of Extras might be unique, but popular television series Vikings has its own take on them – they want at least 8000 extras for its forthcoming filming.
The series which is filmed in Ireland has sent out a call for people to take part in the fourth season of production beginning next month.
Newstalk radio reports that the Canadian/Irish production is finishing up on its third series and will immediately be looking for a large number of extras to take part in its next bout of filming.
The producers will hold its selection process for the jobs which are casual and temporary between April and December with selection days at the Film Base in Temple Bar in Dublin and at the Grand Hotel, in Wicklow.
People of all ethnic backgrounds are required and must be aged 16 or over. Producers are specifically seeking skilled swords people, bowmen, tree surgeons, carpenters, fishermen and males with long hair and beards.
