The US State Department has revised its travel advisory warnings for Bangladesh to alert travellers to the risk of attacks on foreigners, following the recent murders of an American-Bangladeshi blogger, an Italian aid worker and a Japanese agricultural advisor by Islamist militants.

The report warns that armed groups may continue to target foreign citizens in Bangladesh, particularly at large gatherings. The news comes at an awkward time for the Bangladeshi government, which has launched a series of new cultural festivals in an attempt to lure more tourists to the country. Read more: thedailystar.net
