It will be the first airline to offer a non-stop flight between the cities, and according to United, it will be the only non-stop flight to the US from Singapore. The proposed route is subject to government approval. The flight will leave San Francisco at 11:25 pm daily and arrive in Singapore at 6:45 am two days later, using local times. The return flight will leave Singapore at 8:45 am and arrive 9:15 am the same day. The eastbound flight will take about 15.5 hours and westbound will take 16.5. According to the airline, the direct flight will save passengers about four hours each way.

While 16 hours on a flight may seem daunting, the flight will be on a Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner, which the company says has more comfort, better lighting, bigger windows and other “passenger-friendly features”.
