A team of explorers has set off on a 50-day trek through the world’s largest sand desert, the Empty Quarter in the Arabian Peninsula.
The team, made up of one British and two Omani explorers will follow the 1300km path taken by a British civil servant, Bertram Thomas, in 1930. They will walk from Salalah in southern Oman, through Saudi Arabia, to Doha in Qatar. Read more: arabnews.com
