Trams to reappear in Shanghai after 40 year break

Trams will once again grace the streets of Shanghai after being closed for more than 40 years. The city’s government has announced plans for several new tram lines, including a 13-kilometre riverside line in the Xuhui district. The plans were unveiled along with a larger scheme to install riverside cycling and jogging lanes, transport hubs and parking spaces by 2017. Read more: shanghaidaily.com
