An increasing number of holidaymakers are pushing boundaries a step too far at famous and even holy landmarks by going ‘au naturale’ to pose for their travel snaps.

Locals in one country – Cambodia – have been so offended by the rising cases of naked bodies at certain spots that they have complained to officials on this modesty issue.

The Phnom Penh Post reported that the local authorities in the country have in turn released a series of common sense rules to visitors in a bid to clamp down on the trend.

The MailOnline says that the stripping off for photos phenomenon is not just confined to one area but has caused eyebrows to be raised around the world. The website claimed that visitors have been found stripping off at holy sites while it has become commonplace at extreme sports events where people take the ultimate holidays shots.

Two American sisters were arrested by guards three months ago at a holy site after taking photos of each other’s bare backsides in the Preah Khan temple. They received six month suspended sentences as well as a fine for £160 and were deported from the country.

The previous month, three young French men were also deported for taking nude shots at  Angkor complex. At the same time three motorbikers were arrested for riding around naked close to Phnom Penh.

In South America, Peruvian authorities have ordered a crackdown on nudity around the country’s most cultural sites. This follows a umber of offences, including on where two foreigners were detained after baring their bums at the citadel.
