The government of Tanzania has reportedly introduced a set of fees on all wood carvings bought by tourists during their stay in the country. To be collected upon departure from Tanzania, the inspection fee will cost US$16 or US$70, depending on the whether the item cost more or less than US$300. An additional export permit will cost US$21 or US$70 based on the same price threshold. The move has proved controversial in the tourism sector. Read more: eturbonews.com
