Bike Ecxursions

Description :

With the bus or minibus and the bikes on board you will experience Crete’s most beautiful mountain areas. At the starting point of each tour the bikes are unloaded and the tour leader will guide you leisurely down to coastal areas on paved, sometimes slightly ascending roads. A fascinating way to learn more about the landscape, culture and the people of Crete.

Destinations :

White Mountains

An island crossing with a special quality. This tour shows the topography of Crete -the steeply sloping, barren South Coast and the gently sloping, green North Coast – pure downhill fun. You will start the tour from the Askifou heights. As you will be swimming in the Libyan sea, do not forget to bring your bathing costumes. Distance: 38 km / including 34 km downhill.

Price : 57 €

Kournas

The tour starts in the village of Miriokefala on the edgeof the White mountains. After visiting the old town of Lappa you descend towards the springs of Argyroupolis. In the Kournas lake, the only fresh water lake on Crete, you will be swimming (bring your swimming attire). The tour ends at Georgioupolis. Distance: 39 km / including 32 km. downhill.

Price : 57 €

Psiloritis

The country and its people: from Ida heights on the Psiloritis (the highest mountain of Crete) you will start an unforgetable experience…38 km downhill! This descent from 1.450 m above sea level show us the incomparable character of the landscape and vegetation of this “island of mountains”. Distance: 48 km / including 38 km downhill.

Myli

This combined biking and hiking tour brings you to the hidden Myli gorge, an area of wild natural beauty which overwhelms and enchants both local and foreign visitors alike. As almost nobody knows this gorge, you will be able to explore its flora and fauna without being disturbed. The Venetian village of Chromonastiri, will be the starting point for a very enjoyable downhill ride to the North coast. Distance: 30 km (5 km hiking) including 21 km downhill.
