The European Space Agency posted a YouTube video this week, featuring British astronaut Tim Peake as he answered the question that everyone is asking: how do you go to the loo in space? Peake is on a six-month mission on the International Space Station. The video notes that the most common question astronauts are asked is how do they use the toilet while in space. In the video, Peake says it’s quite simple, and shows the tube and seat that astronauts use, explaining that the air force takes any waste down the pipes.

An Istanbul imam has opened the doors of his mosque to stray cats seeking refuge – and won the hearts of cat-lovers around the world. Mustafa Efe, the imam of Aziz Mahmud Hüdayi Mosque in the Uskudar district, has shared photos and videos of the felines on Facebook. A video shows the cat entering the mosque with her kitten and walking up to the pulpit, where the rest of the kittens are were sleeping.

All 60 people who were forced overboard after their tourist boat caught fire off the coast of New Zealand were successfully rescued this week. Police said the blaze broke out as the boat was returning from White Island to the town of Whakatane. All 53 passengers and seven crew members had to head overboard to escape the fire and smoke.

The birth of a rare Eastern black rhino was captured on CCTV footage at the Chester Zoo in the UK. The 13-year-old mother, Ema Elsa, gave birth to her calf after 15-months of pregnancy. The zoo released the footage of the birth, which has been watched thousands of times. Video from the next morning shows the baby rhino enjoying his new enclosure as his mother enjoys some hay from her feeding station. There are fewer than 650 black rhinos left in the wild in Africa.

The Smithsonian National Zoo in Washington posted a video of Bei Bei the panda’s public debut this week, which shows the little panda falling asleep in his enclosure. The young panda’s debut coincided with the reopening of the zoo’s panda house, where he is one of four pandas, along with his mother, father Tian Tian and sibling Bao Bao. The video shows excited visitors entering into the zoo to see Bei Bei.
