If you like a bit of ocean with your sand, then islands in Croatia and Mykonos in Greece have seen a 96% boost. For avid city explorers – who still want to go someplace warm – Mexico City has also seen a 96% increase in pins.
With shows like Poldark and The Crown spurring binge-watchers interest in history, so has the interest in historical travel which surged by 92%. Travellers are looking to places like “old world Europe” and Angkor Wat, proving that some destinations are simply timeless. If the thought of an ocean cruise leaves you cold, then take note as river cruises in places like Vietnam, Germany and Egypt saw a 346% increase in pins. Culture seekers are searching for street art (a 79% increase) home and abroad in beautiful places like Miami, Lisbon and Melbourne.
Many people are looking for authentic experiences as evidenced by a 146% increase in local travel pins. Many travellers are also saving their best memories with elaborate bullet journals decked out with watercolours and calligraphy – with a 169% surge in pins for travel journal.
