The clever staff at Transport for London have created a new and timely way to deter people from travelling without a ticket.

Commuters travelling through Canonbury Station recently were greeted with a board saying: ‘“Attention. Anyone caught travelling without a valid ticket or Oyster will be told the ending to the new Star Wars. (and also get a Penalty Fare).”

Transport for London are known for their occasional funny messages brightening up the daily commute, but it’s not always clear what’s real or not. A website allowing users to fake “handwritten” London Underground signs was recently taken down because Transport for London was concerned there were “instances where they have contained racially offensive messages.”
