If nothing brings you joy like perfect colour co-ordination, it may be time for a trip to a pop-up Pantone Café in Monaco, where you can match your morning espresso to your outfit, or even get some ideas for redecorating.
Monaco’s Pantone Café, which first debuted last year, has returned until 9 September at the Grimaldi Forum esplanade.
The café is sure to delight design lovers and Instagram fanatics, as each item corresponds with a Pantone colour chip from the ubiquitous colour matching system.
The pop-up, which is run by the Monaco Restaurant Group, even has its own colour: Monte Carlo Red 17-1763.
The café is designed to let patrons “taste the colour”, with each product corresponding to with shades taken from the famous swatches created in the 1960s by founder Lawrence Herbert. Visitors can try out such aesthetically pleasing treats as a Chocolate Brown 19-1625 ice cream, a Vibrant Orange 16-1660 juice, or a Lemon 12-0221 puff.
The café offers pizza, salads, sandwiches, pastries, macaroons and homemade eclairs, in a variety of eye-catching colours. The treats are designed to be colourful and “promote good moods”, while allowing visitors to have a “multisensory” experience at the café.
The café is located near the Grimaldi Forum, which is holding an exhibit on Francis Bacon, Monaco and French Culture until 4 September. But, if you can’t make it to live out your colour-matched culinary fantasies before 9 September, the restaurant group is looking to launch a permanent location.
