Taiwan has announced it will introduce an e-visa scheme for visitors starting in January 2016. The scheme will allow non-Taiwanese nationals to apply for visas to Taiwan online.
Previously, visitors requiring a visa had to apply in person at an overseas Taiwanese consulate. The e-visas will allow 30 days entry for tourists and business visits, and up to 25,000 people are expected to use the system next year. Currently, nationals of 45 jurisdictions can already visit Taiwan without a visa for 90 days. Read more: chinapost.com.tw
