The ancient stonework and Roman mosaics of Bosra have been severely damaged, as shown in a video released by Apsa, the Association for the Protection of Syrian Archaeology. Bosra is home to a 2nd century amphitheatre and 8th-century Al-Omari Mosque and was once a popular tourist destination. It appears to have been the site of gun battles and aerial bombardment, leaving debris across the site. Read more: telegraph.co.uk
