The former Shanghai residence of Republic of China founder Dr Sun Yatsen will reopen to the public on 1 January.

Dr Sun and his wife lived in the European-style villa from 1918 until he died in 1925. The house, which is located at 7 Xiangshan Rd in the Huangpu district, was turned into a museum but has been closed for renovations since July. The museum’s exhibitions include early photos of Sun and key political figures from the era, as well as memorabilia from Sun’s life, including maps, tools and weapons. Read more: shanghaidaily.com
