After what seems the longest time of winter gloom, London is set to bask in glorious sunshine this weekend with predictions of soaring temperatures – all due to the arrival of a tropical air mass from Bermuda.

London will experience highs of 17C on Saturday, says the Met Office, as spring finally is sprung. Average temperatures across Britain will rival and in cases surpass those in Istanbul, Athens and Corfu this weekend reports the Evening Standard.

The warm weather influencing British weather is coming from the warm waters between the Azores and Bermuda.

The Daily Mail reports that the change from cold to more pleasant weather is about two weeks behind last year, but comes after a colder winter. Met Office data reveals Britian’s average temperature for March at slightly below 12C.
