The Americas, Weird, Odd & Just Plain Fun
A dramatic piece of footage captures a pro-skier falling 1,000 ft down a snowy mountain while filming a documentary.
Angel Collinson was skiing down a steep snowy mountain in Alaska for a film crew who were capturing her movements for a documentary. The American skier lost her balance in the thick snow and ended up flipping over and tumbling dramatically down the steep mountain, terrifying onlookers. When she finally stopped falling, she could be heard to shout, “I’m ok, I’m ok.”
Speaking to Fox News this week Angel said she knew she couldn’t stop falling and so simply focused on protecting her head with her arms. Miraculously she emerged with only a few bruises and two sprained wrists. The video, which was shot in December 2015 but released yesterday by the Teton Gravity Research project, hopes to raise awareness around safe skiing.
