Etsy, the popular peer-to-peer selling website that specialises in all things arts, crafts, and vintage, has rather ingeniously released a city guide to the stores it features online. The idea was first launched in 2014, but is getting properly under way now. Whilst Etsy is an online community it has always stated that it gave a lot of importance to creating and fostering its offline community by hosting events, festivals, and now these handy guidebooks.

The Etsy City Guides allow you to navigate cities while discovering where the shops you had an online relationship with are. The city guides currently cover Austin, Los Angeles, Chicago, Philadelphia, with New York coming soon. The plan is for the city guides to extend beyond just the US and Canada and cover its other sellers across the world. If shopping for arts, crafts, and unique items is what you’re after, then these are for you, as they cover nothing else. Rather than give an exhaustive guide to the city, these books function as a specific guide to shopping. The concept is part of Etsy’s larger initiative to connect independent sellers and designers with retailers, so all in all, it’s a project with heart to it.
