Shanghai’s oldest wet market to close ahead of demolition plans

The oldest wet market in Shanghai, Tangjiawan market, is slated to close later this year as part of area redevelopment plans. The market, which has been in operation since 1903, is well-known and beloved amongst many Shanghai residents and foodies, for its excellent selection of produce and meat, as well as its competitive prices. The market and old apartments nearby will be demolished to make way for new housing blocks and a public garden. Read more: shanghaidaily.com
