Buddhists in Trashigang in Bhutan are gathering to celebrate the seven day Moenlam Chenmo prayer festival, celebrating the birth of the fourth king of Bhutan. The tradition of chenmo comes from Tibet, where two weeks of prayers were held annually to commemorate the teachings of the Buddha, but the practice was banned after the Cultural Revolution.
