Star Wars fans eagerly awaiting the new themed attractions at Disneyland in California and Walt Disney World in Florida can get a sense of what is to come with new aerial footage of the construction site.
Disney has released new footage of Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge at Disneyland, which is going to be “be one of the most detailed and immersive lands ever created in Disney Parks history.” The new themed areas will open at the parks in 2019, bringing visitors right into attractions centred on the hit film franchise.
The new video shows the construction site and gives a sense of just how large the new areas will be. Even under scaffolding, the massive structures look ready to transport travellers to distant lands. The new attractions will take guests to the planet of Batuu, “a remote outpost on the galaxy’s edge that was once a busy crossroads along the old sub-lightspeed trade routes.” There they can visit attractions that will let them take control of the Millennium Falcon and even head into a battle between the First Order and the Resistance.
Since acquiring rights to the massively popular franchise, Disney has been upping its Star Wars-related offerings. In fact, Orlando will also see a new Star Wars-themed resort that will let guests completely immerse themselves in the universe.
