Sausage dog walks 10km to find his lost love

When Toto met Lilly, a fellow dachshund, on holiday it was love at first sight and the two dogs were inseparable.

Unfortunately for Toto his owners had to return back home to Scafati, near Pompeii, and the little dog’s heart was broken. When Toto went missing his owners feared the worst, but the story had a happy ending. Lilly’s owners, who live over ten km away in Casola, discovered him barking outside their house. The sausage dog had run as fast as his stubby legs could carry him, following his keen sense of smell and dodging busy roads along the way to find his lost love. Toto and Lilly’s owner have pledged to make sure the dogs can spend as much time together as possible in future. Read more: thelocal.it
